Welcome to NextGEN Canada Hybrid Meeting 2024
Connecting the Future of Optometry

About the Event:
Join us at the NextGEN Hybrid Meeting  March 2024, a pioneering event designed for the upcoming generation of Canadian Optometrists. This event caters to students wherever they are studying, be it in Canada or the US. It is presented by Eye Care Business Canada and organized by the committed team of NextGEN OD Canada Student Ambassadors.

The event will be live at University of Waterloo, with Watch Parties at NECO and other locations and will be simulcast live on ZOOM to Canadian OD Students and recent grads across North America.

Meet the Leadership Team:

Natasha Reyes (OD Candidate, University of Waterloo Class of 2026)

  • Attended an arts school in Toronto, followed by McMaster University (double major in Biology & Psychology &  Neuroscience and Behaviour.
  • AOSA Trustee
  • Executive member of the UW’s Advancement of Independent Optometry Club
  • President of the UW Chapter of the American Optometric Student Association
  • Transitions Student Ambassador
Nyah Miranda (OD Candidate, New England College of Optometry Class of 2026)

  • Undergrad: University of Guelph (2022)
  • AOSA Trustee
  • Transitions Lenses Student Ambassador
  • Hometown: Cobble Hill, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
  • Digital Media Manager at NextGen OD
Jenny Lee Jenny Lee, OD   (UW 2023)  Clinical & Refractive Optometry (CRO) Liaison to NextGEN OD

  • Vision Therapy resident at the University of Waterloo,
  • CRO Assistant Editor and Liaison
  • Born and raised in Vancouver, BC
  • Completed undergraduate degree at UBC (Physiology).
  • Completed clinical externships at Eye Associates of Pinellas in Pinellas Park, FL and Bolton Optometry Clinic in Bolton, ON.
  • Passionate about hiking, paddle-boarding, watercolour and digital art!
