VuePoint IDS Inc. is pleased to announce an expanded editorial collaboration with Dr. Trevor Miranda, who has been appointed Optik, Optometry Editor.
A highly regarded Canadian optometrist, industry thought leader and advocate for independent practice, Dr. Miranda has worked with VuePoint for many years as a contributor, speaker and advisor. Dr. Miranda has been a contributor to Independent Sightlines, the Eye Care Business Canada content platform focused on independent optometric practice, including practice ownership and growth, leadership, mentorship, succession and the evolving business environment facing Canadian optometrists, for over 4 years.
Expanded Role at Optik Magazine
Dr. Miranda will work alongside and complement the role of Editor-in-chief, Shan Khan. In his new role, he will provide optometry-specific editorial insight, identify emerging issues and themes, recommend contributors and help strengthen Optik’s connection with the Canadian optometric profession. He will also join the Optik Editorial Advisory Board.
“I’ve always believed strongly in the value of independent optometry and in sharing the experience we’ve gained with the next generation of practitioners,” said Dr. Miranda. “I’m looking forward to expanding my involvement with Optik and VuePoint, contributing to the conversations that matter to Canadian optometrists, and creating more opportunities to support and mentor those who are building the practices of the future.”
The expanded collaboration will also support Dr. Miranda’s growing focus on mentorship and professional development for younger optometrists, including potential participation in NextGen OD Canada programming, webinars, roundtables and other educational initiatives, including CE activities.
Podcast Collaboration
VuePoint will also help expand the visibility of Dr. Miranda’s podcast, Optometrist Unleashed, through selected promotional and cross-platform opportunities.
The new role reflects a broader collaboration designed to bring an experienced optometric voice into VuePoint’s editorial planning while creating new opportunities to support independent practice and the next generation of Canadian optometrists.
